Subhankar Banerjee - 21st century artist

Every generation has a distinct call to arms. Ours is Global climate change, resource depletion (aka Peak Oil) and the preservation of Earth's bio-diversity.

One photographer has captured all these issues in his work: Subhankar Banerjee. Through his photos of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR), Banerjee shows us the pristine, bountiful life that exists in an area where most considered desolate and where many would like to exploit for marginal oil and natural gas resources.

See more of his extraordinary work and learn more about the artist at my father's gallery, Michael Berger Gallery.

When Peak oil starts to make life uncomfortable, we will be more open to offerings of a cheap energy source provided by alien technology. We will be eager to accept this Faustian bargain: cheap energy in exchange for human freedom.
